SUMMARY:Forum for Race Equality in Social Care & Health
DESCRIPTION:FRESH is a vibrant\, long-standing Forum working in partnership with Leeds City Council\, NHS West Yorkshire ICB\, and organisations across the Third Sector. It brings people together to share real experiences\, challenge inequality\, and make sure racially minoritised communities are heard where decisions are made. \nFRESH feeds directly into several key networks across Leeds. Over the years\, members have played a crucial role in shaping work on Windrush\, the BME Your Health\, Your Say Conference\, NHS England’s prescription medicine management\, BME Day Services redesign\, and city-wide engagement by former CCGs. \nThe Forum has a reputation for being “Involvement Ready” – members bring lived experience\, insight\, and an honest voice that services trust. They are regularly asked to act as a critical friend\, making sure services understand what works (and what doesn’t) for communities across Leeds. \nMore recently\, FRESH has also helped influence Carers Assessments\, contributed to the delivery of PCREF in Leeds\, and fed into major strategic developments across Adults & Health and NHS partners. Its ongoing work continues to shape policy\, improve services\, and build better connections between communities and the people who design and deliver support.

SUMMARY:Together We Can - Mental Health Network Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Together We Can is our lived-experience mental health network\, bringing people together to share what’s working\, what isn’t\, and what needs to change across Leeds. It’s a space where people feel heard\, supported\, and included\, with a strong focus on improving mental health services for everyone. \nThe group is made up of people with real experience of mental health challenges\, carers\, and community members who want services to feel more human\, more responsive\, and easier to access. This insight shapes everything we do. Members have helped influence the Leeds Mental Health Framework\, created the six Mental Health “I Statements\,” and continue to guide plans across the city so that decision-makers understand what people actually need. \nTogether We Can runs regular sessions\, conversations\, and opportunities for people to get involved at whatever level feels right for them. Some people simply come along to feel connected and understood; others share feedback\, take part in workshops\, or get involved in shaping service improvements. \nEverything we do is about strengthening voices\, reducing stigma\, and making sure lived experience is at the heart of mental health work in Leeds.
