The Early Action on Cancer Pilot – Community Connector Information Session
July 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

We are looking for local people in Chapeltown and Harehills to become Community Connectors as part of our Early Action on Cancer Pilot.
Community Connectors will help raise awareness of the early signs of cancer and the importance of screening by having informal conversations with family, friends, neighbours and local groups. The role is about sharing simple information and encouraging people to seek advice when needed – you will not be giving medical advice.
Community Connectors will receive:
- A 3-hour training session
- Two workshops to help shape community messages
- Monthly informal check-ins
- Opportunities to take part in four community events
- Ongoing support throughout the pilot
- Travel expenses covered
We particularly welcome people with lived experience of cancer and anyone who is passionate about improving health and wellbeing in their local community.
