I was co-elected onto the Board at the AGM in November 2014. As a city councillor I am involved in many groups but always make sure we hear the voice of those affected most.
I think that the NHS can sometimes be like a juggernaut ploughing along getting from a to b. What it sometimes lacks is just what LIP offers; that is the voice of the patient or service user and their families.
As a carer for many years for my mum who had many issues but latterly dementia if felt our voices were not heard. I don’t want that to happen to anyone else. That is why I was honoured to become a board member.
