I am a volunteer with LIP, I really enjoy working with the staff and other volunteers. I also am a volunteer with other organisations, including Healthwatch and Touchstone. I am also on various management committees such as Leeds West Indian Centre Charitable Trust, St Kitts-Nevis Association Leeds and also the West Indian Centre Women’s Group. I have been on these committees for a various number of years in which I have seen and been part of the changes that have happened in both Chapeltown and Leeds.
I really enjoy meeting people in all my different roles and speaking in such diverse groups. I feel can make a difference to people’s lives whether it’s doing surveys and questionnaires for major organisations or going out and promoting the groups at events. I am a qualified childcare worker, as well as a healthcare worker. I’ve done various jobs in different fields including youth, retail and domestic work. As well as my professional experience I enjoy reading, going out and cooking.
